Season 3 of Ghosts is on the way. Per THR, it has been announced that CBS has renewed the comedy series for a third season. The renewal news comes early as the series is currently airing its second season on the network. It also comes as Ghosts has been garnering high viewership, pulling in ratings on par with the Big Bang Theory spinoff series Young Sheldon as the most-watched comedy currently on television.

In a statement, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said, “This season, executive producers Joe Port, Joe Wiseman and the brilliant cast delivered episodes that far surpassed our expectations. From the opening of the Woodstone B&B to epic Halloween and Christmas episodes, we have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our Ghosts even better. Much like our viewers, we love them more each and every week. As the series continues to win fans on broadcast and streaming, we’re thrilled to bring back this touching and hilarious comedy for a third season.”

The renewal marks the second for CBS for the 2023-24 season following the recent renewal of Fire Country; that show has become an instant hit with its first season. Heading to the end of season 3, Ghosts is more popular than ever, reportedly averaging 9.15 million viewers in Nielsen’s seven-day ratings. Additional viewership numbers factored in from other platforms bump that up to around 11.5 million, making Ghosts the top comedy series on Paramount+ where it’s available for streaming.
