Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the second season of Ginny & Georgia. Created by Sarah Lampert and starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry, the series debuted its first season in February 2021. After waiting nearly two years, fans will be able to check out the new episodes when season 2 premieres on Jan. 5, 2023. Ahead of the premiere, you can get a sneak peek by watching the brand new trailer below.

The series follows thirtysomething mother Georgia Miller (Howey) and her teen daughter, Ginny (Gentry), after the two settle down in a New England town. Season 2 will pick up after the shocking ending of season 1, and the questions that viewers have will soon be answered. An official logline for season 2 reads:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“Well, it’s two weeks later. We pick up right where we left off,” Gentry says of where we begin in the new episodes, via Screen Rant. “I think we see her in a state of panic. She’s very vulnerable. She’s kind of falling apart. The journey from where Ginny starts at the beginning of season two to where she ends is a long one. She has to get from zero back to ten. We start at zero. We start at rock bottom.”

On what’s up with Georgia, Howey added, “She’s pretty devastated. I think this is her absolute rock bottom. This is everything she’s been trying to avoid. This is the house of cards that she’s been holding onto so tightly, and it has literally all come crashing down.“
