The girls will be getting back together again, but at a new home. For two seasons, Girls5eva has streamed at Peacock, and the good news for fans is that it has just been renewed for a third season, per Variety. The catch is that viewers will have to switch streaming services to catch the new episodes, as the show will also be making the move from Peacock to Netflix ahead of the third season’s arrival. This is reminiscent of when the hit show Cobra Kai moved from YouTube Red over to Netflix ahead of its own third season; that show has since only gotten much more popular since arriving at Netflix.
In a statement, Netflix VP of Comedy Series Tracey Pakosta said, “We are so happy to bring Girls5eva to Netflix. Just like the show, we are so excited to reunite with this amazing team.”

Today, we are thrilled to announce that our reunited girl group will be re-reunited at Netflix. We are so thankful to everyone at the streamer who fell in love with our music-filled comedy."
They further tease, “We cannot wait to introduce Dawn, Wickie, Summer, and Gloria to the global Netflix audience. Well, not fully introduce, if you look closely, Girls5eva can be seen in the background of the Woodstock ’99 documentary setting a porta potty on fire.”
Girls5eva Moves to Netflix

Girls5eva debuted its first season in 2021 on Peacock. The series follows a girl group called Girls5eva that was famous around 2000 before falling into obscurity. By reuniting, the women hope to recreate some of the success they achieved when they were younger. The main cast includes Sara Bareilles as Dawn, Busy Philipps as Summer, Paula Pell as Gloria, and Renee Elise Goldsberry as Wickie. Guest stars have included Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Tim Meadows, Bowen Yang, Dean Winters, and Vanessa Williams.
“Season 2 of Girls5eva answers the simple question: What would happen if Girls5eva was renewed for a second season?” Scardino previously said of where the story goes in season 2 “We are so excited to share the next chapter in Dawn, Wickie, Gloria, and Summer’s journey as they enter ‘Album Mode’ and embark on making their first studio album on their own terms.”
It’s not yet clear when the third season of Girls5eva will premiere on Netflix. While season 3 will be exclusive to Netflix, the first two seasons will still be shared with Peacock.
