At last, we finally have our hands on the first official plot details for the upcoming Knives Out sort-of-sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. After some detailed detective work, which largely consisted of ready an article released by Netflix Tudum, we now know how the stellar cast will factor into proceedings as Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc once again does what he does best: solving murder mysteries. Knives Out 2 Will Once Again Boast an A-List Cast of Suspects

Much like the first Knives Out, which featured the likes of Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, and Christopher Plummer alongside Daniel Craig, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will once again boast an A-list cast so stellar your bound to walk away with stars in your eyes.

With Daniel Craig set to reprise the role of Benoit Blanc, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will find the private detective questioning such Hollywood talent as Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, and Ethan Hawke.

Director Rian Johnson, who returns to both write and helm Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has discussed bringing such a cast together, revealing that it involves a major roll of the dice. “You try and invite people that you like,” he says. “But the reality is you never know. At the end of the day, just trying to get the best actors in each part, the actors that are most right for each individual part. So, you also just throw the dice and hold your breath. Luckily, we got a great group that really meshed.”

Speaking of the cast, one of the accused, WandaVision star Kathryn Hahn, has described Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery as feeling very much like an “old school ensemble” piece. “It took me back to my roots because it really did feel like an old school ensemble,” Hahn said of working on the murder mystery sequel. “It really felt a lot like my class at Yale. I had the same kind of fond feelings of love and tenderness towards everybody.”

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022. A global release date has also now been revealed, with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery due to land on Netflix this holiday season on December 23, 2022.
