God of War Fans Have Called for Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista to Play Kratos

Created by David Jaffe at Sony’s Santa Monica Studio, God of War is an action-adventure video game franchise that first began in 2005. The story follows Kratos, a Spartan warrior who later becomes the God of War after he is tricked into killing his family by his former master, the original Greek god of war, Ares. Seeking vengeance, Kratos wages war on the gods, setting off a series of events that leads to wars with the mythological pantheons.
No casting announcements have yet been made, but for some time now fans of the video game have been calling for Guardians of the Galaxy and Dune star Dave Bautista to lead any potential live action adaptation as Kratos.
Rafe Judkins (The Wheel of Time) will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the God of War series. No release date for God of War has yet been set.
