There have been many films over the years that, in spite of being highly panned by critics, grossed millions around the world and became box office hits. The 2000 film Gone in 60 Seconds is an obvious example of that. This Dominic Sena-directed production is an action remake of the 1974 film of the same name that was written, directed, produced and starred H. B. Halicki. Gone in 60 Seconds follows Randall “Memphis” Raines, a car thief who left his crime-ridden life behind long ago. But after his younger brother Kip, also a thief, is abducted by a gangster he used to work for, Memphis must get back into the swing of things to steal 50 cars for the man if he wants to save his brother from certain death. To carry out this challenging mission, this legend of the car theft business must put together a trustworthy team to ensure his success.
