Halo’s Successful Series Premiere on Paramount+

According to Deadline, the recently premiered Paramount+ series has set a new record as the service’s most-watched series premiere globally within its first 24 hours of release. The new record topped the previous lead established by the Yellowstone prequel series 1883. “Bringing Halo to life as a streaming series has been one of the most rewarding efforts for Paramount+ to date and we could not be more thrilled at the massive fan response to the series’ debut,” said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer at Paramount+. “Along with our phenomenal partners at Showtime, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, we cannot wait for fans to experience more of this incredible universe.”

Halo is produced by Showtime in association with 343 Industries, along with Amblin Television. The series is executive produced by Steven Kane, Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey. With the series having already been renewed for a second season, this most certainly shows that Paramount+ sees some great potential in the Halo TV series. Of course, there will be many Halo video game fans who will not enjoy the series for various reasons, but nonetheless, after several years of going through “development hell,” the Halo TV series was worth the wait.

The first two episodes of Halo are currently available for streaming on Paramount+. The popular television series will consist of 9 episodes with roughly 50-60 minute runtimes. It has been reported that Halo had an estimated budget of $200 million, with episodes being directed by Otto Bathurst, Jonathan Liebesman, M.J. Bassett, Roel Reine, and Jet Wilkinson. Details pertaining to the second season are currently being kept under wraps, as production is expected to begin sometime later this year.
