Zachary Quinto has signed on for a guest-starring role on Season 3 of NBC’s Hannibal. The actor will appear in at least one episode of the hit series, playing a patient of Bedilia Du Maurier, played by new series regular Gillian Anderson. The casting reunites Zachary Quinto with Hannibal series creator Bryan Fuller, who served as a writer and producer on Heroes, where the actor starred in his breakout role as the villainous Sylar.

The actor joins a growing cast for Season 3, alongside Richard Armitage as Francis Dollarhyde (The Tooth Fairy), Nina Arianda as the new love interest for Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Tao Okamoto as a servant to Lady Murasaki, the aunt of Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). We’ll have to wait and see who Zachary Quinto will be playing, but he certainly has a history of playing homicidal characters in Heroes and American Horror Story, so perhaps he will play another serial killer in Hannibal.

NBC announced in January that Season 3 won’t debut until sometime this summer, as opposed to the late-spring premieres of Season 1 and Season 2. Zachary Quinto currently stars in NBC’s The Slap, and he will next be seen on the big screen in Hitman: Agent 47 and Snowden. The actor will also be reprising his role as Spock in the sequel Star Trek 3.
