It’s gonna get whacky on HBO Max soon! Jellystone season 2 is officially coming to HBO Max on March 17th. For the special occasion, the crew released a trailer teasing all sorts of cartoony antics.

For those that are wondering what Yogi Bear is doing in a space suit, Jellystone is the brainchild of C. H. Greenblatt (Chowder, Harvey Beaks). The show is a reimagining of the world of Hanna-Barbera, where all the signature characters live in the fictional town of Jellystone. We follow the various residents as they go about their daily lives, but if you know these characters then you know daily lives can include some crazy hijinks. A simple trip to the grocery store could turn into an epic quest to find the missing ingredient for the perfect fruit salad, the mayor trying to film a commercial for the town turns into an anime! It’s never a dull day for sure. Greenblatt stated in an interview with Animation Scoop that the show was made with love and respect for the characters.

Hey Boo-Boo! What’s Jellystone About?

Jellystone made its big premiere on HBO Max on July 29th, 2021. The show was a hit among fans old and new, who spoke up about how the show stayed true to the spirit of the characters, despite having to make a few changes to make the show more acceptable for modern audiences. Greenblatt talked about the pressure with Variety.

Jellystone breaks new ground in another way. It is the first television show to utilize the characters without any involvement of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, who passed away in 2001 and 2006 respectively. But despite the pressure, the show was a hit, and not only is there a second season on the way but another 40 episodes have been ordered from HBO Max already! As of now, it is unclear if the new 40 episodes will be part of season 2 or will be split into other seasons. For now, it seems like Greenblatt and the rest of the crew are excited for more cartoon hijinks!

You can catch all of Jellystone’s first season on HBO Max, just in time for the second season’s premier. If you’re a fan of Hanna-Barbera, you just might see a friend or two wandering the streets and dodging banana peels! It indeed is never a dull day in Jellystone.
