Recent rumors that Man of Steel star Henry Cavill could be making a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 may have already been dashed. According to Collider’s Steven Weintraub, Cavill will be too busy filming The Witcher Season 3 to feature at the event.
Rumors have suggested that Cavill could show up at Comic-Con to make a long-awaited Superman announcement, with “buzz” alleging that Cavill would appear during the Saturday Warner Bros. panel to “talk up more Superman.” Sadly, this does not sound like it will be the case. Bad news for Superman fans, but good news for those patiently awaiting his return as Geralt in The Witcher.
Of course, it is possible that Henry Cavill will achieve the impossible and appear in two places at once. Or maybe he could just use Zoom or some such. In any case, Weintraub is doubtful that the actor will show his really, really ridiculously good-looking face at San Diego Comic-Con “Unless he can really fly.”
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Henry Cavill first appeared as the DC icon Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel. The actor has since played the character throughout director Zack Snyder’s hugely divisive Snyder-Verse, reprising the role in 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice before uniting with the likes of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash in both Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder’s respective versions of Justice League.
The actor’s portrayal of Superman has been well-received by audiences and fans of the character, with Cavill himself expressing numerous times his desire to once again don the red cape.
