While debates continue about which hero is more powerful in their own right, these women have earned a higher degree of power and are thus the toughest female superhores of all time.

5 She-Hulk

She-Hulk is a character who often isn’t given the credit she’s due because she’s thought of solely as the female version of Hulk. While their powers are almost exactly the same, She-Hulk is a person and a hero in her own right. She’s Jennifer Walters, cousin to Bruce Banner, and got her powers from The Incredible Hulk when Jennifer was seriously wounded and required a blood transfusion. Her blood type matched that of her cousin Bruce, and thus the powers of The Incredible Hulk were given to her, as well. Her powers were originally triggered by anger, but Jennifer later decided to take on her She-Hulk form full time because she enjoyed the freedom it allowed her.

Although She-Hulk has not yet been shown in the MCU, she will appear very soon, with the character slated to receive her own show on Disney+ later this year, with Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) playing the icon. Not much is currently known about the show, but it will have appearances from Bruce Banner, presumably to help She-Hulk grow and understand her own strength. The show moves Phase 4 of the MCU forward by passing the mantle of Hulk as a hero from Bruce Banner to Jennifer Walters. This allows She-Hulk to appear in future MCU projects and possibly even the Young Avengers.

4 Black Widow

     Quora

While Black Widow may not have the textbook version of superpowers, she is one of Earth’s mightiest heroes. As a Russian spy, Natasha was given enhanced biotechnology that slowed the process of aging, developed resistance to disease, and created faster healing rates. Black Widow also employs a knack for psychological manipulation to mask her emotions and coerce her targets, along with immense martial arts skills and a background in acrobatics. These skills allow her to respond quickly to threats and process multiple situations at a time; nothing makes Black Widow more powerful than her ability to work quickly, with speed being her greatest strength. Her combination of skills makes her a perfect addition to the Avengers team, as well as a capable hero on her own. Typically played by Scarlett Johanson in the popular films, Black Widow’s employment of these tactics and skills makes her extremely powerful against villains from all over the universe.

2 Captain Marvel

The Captain Marvel we all know and love was not always Captain Marvel. Carol Danvers was originally under the mantle of Ms. Marvel, counterpart to the male Captain Marvel. The two would often work together, in an almost package-deal sort of situation. It was only within the last decade that Carol Danvers assumed the mantle of Captain Marvel. She received her powers from the species of Kree which allowed her immunity, strength, stamina, and agility, and has quickly become a pivotal character in the MCU. Captain Marvel’s alien descent allows her powers to be more intense and effective than many of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Her appearance (portrayed by Brie Larson) in Avengers: Endgame was not only vital to the story but solidified her position in the MCU, and the upcoming film The Marvels seems to further cement the importance of the character. While the Caotain Marvel mantle has been passed down to many, Carol Danvers seems to be one of the most pertinent and powerful of all.

1 Scarlet Witch

Objectively, Scarlet Witch is the most powerful female superhero and possibly one of the most powerful superheroes of all time. In her early appearances, it was stated that Scarlet Witch was a mutant, which is why she first appeared in an X-Men comic. Over time, Scarlet Witch’s powers have developed and grown into something much larger than the powers of a mere witch. As she began to learn more about magic and her abilities through training with Agatha Harkness, Scarlet Witch’s powers continued to change throughout the comics and, eventually, she became able to manipulate energy. Her powers of energy manipulation even go so far as to manipulate time, space, and reality as a whole, indicative of the chaos magic that Scarlet Witch possesses. Scarlet Witch’s powers within the comics transcend space and time altogether, and these powers are starting to be seen within the MCU as perhaps the strongest of all.

In the MCU, Scarlet Witch is an ever-expanding character. Her powers are growing with every appearance as she possibly begins to use them for evil instead of good. In her appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Scarlet Witch is reluctant to join the Avengers because she believes Tony Stark was to blame for the death of her parents. In this film, Scarlet Witch’s powers are chaotic and seem to be triggered by emotion, but they progress as her character grows and changes. In her most recent appearance in WandaVision, her powers are insanely more capable than they were when we first saw her. As many know, we next see Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and this iteration of Scarlet Witch seems to be now be using her powers for evil. If Scarlet Witch is the villain, is she powerful enough to take on her former teammates? Time will tell.
