If you like thrilling shows, with hints of mystery that leave you on the edge of your seat every season finale, then How to Get Away With Murder is your ideal TV series to binge-watch. This legal drama thriller show was created by Peter Nowalk and produced by Shonda Rhimes, who is also known for productions such as Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, among many others. It premiered in September 2014 and ran for six seasons, wrapping up in 2020. How to Get Away With Murder stars Viola Davis as Annalise Keating, a brilliant lawyer and law professor at Middleton University in Philadelphia. Each year, she, famous for sticking up for her clients no matter how guilty they are, recruits the top students in her class to intern at her firm. This year’s group consists of Connor Walsh, Michaela Pratt, Asher Millstone, Laurel Castillo, and Wes Gibbins. However, Annalise and this group of bright young people are unaware of one thing: they are about to take on a case that will implicate them in a murderous plot and forever change their lives.

Throughout its seasons, How to Get Away With Murder was widely acclaimed, especially for the cast’s performances. For her role as Annalise Keating, Davis became the first Black woman to ever win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, per NPR, among several other awards and nominations. So did the rest of the cast, whose careers rose dramatically after their involvement in the series. Here’s where the How to Get Away With Murder cast is today.

Viola Davis

     ABC

Viola Davis is one of the most impressive and acclaimed actresses of modern times. She has won an array of awards and went down in history for, among other things, becoming the first African-American to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting by winning an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and two Tony Awards. After starring in How to Get Away With Murder as Annalise Keating, Davis went on to star in projects that brought her great acclaim, as well as producing a number of films and shows. Among her most popular films in recent years are Lila & Eve, Custody and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, a production she starred in alongside Chadwick Boseman. She also joined the DC Extended Universe as Amanda Waller in the film Suicide Squad, and reprised the role in the 2021 film The Suicide Squad and Black Adam.

2022 has been a particularly busy year for Davis, who headed two major productions: the film The Woman King and the TV series The First Lady, in which she portrayed Michelle Obama. Unfortunately, this show fell short of critical acclaim and got canceled after only one season (via Digital Spy). Davis is expected to appear in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in 2023 and in the film Air Jordan, for which a release date has not yet been announced.

Charlie Weber

Charlie Weber played Frank Delfino, who worked for Annalise as a private detective and helped her solve all the problems that arose in her cases. This is, so far, the actor’s best known role, but he also worked for many years as a model. Following his part in How to Get Away With Murder, Weber appeared mostly in films. Among them, we can highlight After We Collided, the 2020 sequel to the movie After, the action thriller Panama and As They Made Us, where he worked alongside Dianna Agron, Simon Helberg, Candice Bergen, and Dustin Hoffman. He is expected to star in The Locksmith, Nicolas Harvard’s directorial feature debut, although this production has no release date yet.

Liza Weil

Liza Weil completes Annalise’s crew as Bonnie Winterbottom, Keating’s right-hand woman and someone who has been by her side for years. While this role is one of her best known, so is her role as Paris Geller in Gilmore Girls and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and as Amanda Tanner in the Shonda Rhimes series Scandal. In recent years, Weil mainly appeared in TV productions. In 2019, while starring in How to Get Away With Murder, she joined the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Carole Keen. Two years later, she took a minor role in the series The Cleaning Lady and the film Women Is Losers, starring Lorenza Izzo. For now, Weil is not working on any new projects.

Alfred Enoch

Alfred Enoch plays Wes Gibbins, one of the most important characters in the show because of his personal history with Keating, his teacher and boss. In the show’s sixth season, Enoch was brought back to play another role: Christopher Castillo, Wes and Laurel’s son. Apart from the role of Wes Gibbins, Enoch is also known for portraying Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter film saga. Over the past few years, he has been involved in a number of projects in film, television, and on stage. In 2021, he starred in Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre in London and was featured in the Apple TV+ series Foundation, based on Isaac Asimov’s series of stories of the same name. Last year, he joined the rest of the Harry Potter cast in the 20th Anniversary special, and stepped into a new role as dramaturge of the play Shades of Blue. He is expected to star in the upcoming film The Critic, alongside Ian McKellen and Gemma Arterton.

Jack Falahee

Jack Falahee is Connor Walsh, another one of the students who was offered an exclusive internship at Keating’s firm. While playing this character, Falahee earned even more recognition for his appearance on the show Mercy Street as Frank Stringfellow. Following How to Get Away With Murder, the actor refocused his efforts on both music and charity work. He launched a music project called Diplomacy with a childhood friend as lead singer and songwriter. At the same time, he got involved in several campaigns to raise funds towards different causes. At the moment, he has no upcoming projects planned.

Aja Naomi King

In How to Get Away With Murder, Aja Naomi King is Michaela Pratt, an intern at Annalise’s firm and her top student. Michaela follows in Keating’s footsteps and longs to be like her. In real life, King also followed in Davis’ footsteps: after starring in the show, her career rose steadily. Among her most notable projects are films such as The Upside, alongside Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, and Nicole Kidman, Sylvie’s Love and The 24th. By 2023, she is expected to appear in the films Shriver and The Knife, which will be Nnamdi Asomugha’s feature directorial debut. She will also be joining the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ show Lessons in Chemistry, along with Brie Larson, Lewis Pullman, and Stephanie Koenig, among others.

Matt McGorry

About a year before playing student and intern Asher Millstone in How to Get Away With Murder, Matt McGorry became known for playing John Bennett, a correction officer and former soldier in the series Orange Is The New Black. After concluding both projects, he remained active in the industry, starring in both films and shows. Among his most popular productions are the films Uncorked, Death of a Telemarketer and Good on Paper. He also starred in the Netflix series 2022 Archive 81, inspired by a podcast of the same name. As of now, he is not expected to appear in any projects in the near future.

Karla Souza

Karla Souza rounds out the group of interns known as Keating 5 as Laurel Castillo. The Mexican actress is also known for her role as Marina Hayworth, one of the main characters in the 2021 sitcom Home Economics. After starring in How to Get Away With Murder, Souza went on to star in a number of projects. She took part in films such as The Sleepover, the Spanish-Mexican musical comedy Voy a Pasármelo Bien and Day Shift, alongside Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco and Snoop Dogg. She was also featured in El Presidente, a Chilean Prime Video series, whose second season premiered last November.

Conrad Ricamora

Conrad Ricamora plays Oliver Hampton, a computer hacker and Connor Walsh’s partner, who eventually ends up working for Annalise Keating as well. He was a supporting character for the first two seasons and, by the third one, he joined the main cast. In recent years, Ricamora took roles in film, television, and stage productions. In 2021, he joined the cast of The Resident in a recurring role as Dr. Jake Wong, and, a year later, he starred alongside Joel Kim Booster, Bowen Yang, James Scully, and Margaret Cho in the rom-com Fire Island. This past year, he has turned his efforts mostly to the stage, playing the character of Seymour Krelborn in the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors at the Westside Theatre.

Rome Flynn

Wrapping up this list is Rome Flynn, who joined the cast in the fourth season of the show as Gabriel Maddox, a suspicious student who seems to have landed at Middleton University to disturb Annalise’s and her interns’ peace of mind. Prior to this role, Flynn had gained notoriety for appearing on the CBS show The Bold and the Beautiful. In the last few years, Flynn kept on working mostly in TV series. Among his most popular projects are the shows Raising Dion, Dear White People and Grey’s Anatomy, joining the cast in the 18th season as Wendell Ndugu.
