Unfortunately for fans, Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson won’t be a part of the forthcoming series, leaving Shore as the lone connection between the original trilogy and the new series. Nevertheless, The Rings Of Power should certainly give a familiar feel when the main theme graces audiences, and hopefully, it truly feels like fans are back in Middle-earth.

Bear McCreary Composed the Full Episodic Series Score

Over the past year, Bear McCreary has tirelessly composed hours of music for The Rings of Power score, including folk instruments and choral singers. He’s known for his work on Godzilla: King of Monsters, Battlestar Galactica, and The Walking Dead. However, the upcoming Prime Video series will be the composer’s most high-profile, large-budget project to date.

During an interview with Deadline, McCreary shared his excitement to work with Howard Shore and The Lord Of The Rings fans.

“As I set out to compose the score for this series, I strove to honor Howard Shore’s musical legacy. When I heard his majestic main title, I was struck by how perfectly his theme and my original score, though crafted separately, fit together so beautifully. I am excited for audiences to join us on this new musical journey to Middle-earth.”
