The first look at Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones from Indiana Jones 5 is here. After what seems like an eternal wait, Empire Magazine exclusively revealed a new look at the character in some photos, as well as revealing another art piece inspired by the movie’s plot.

Harrison Ford has been the face of Indiana Jones since his first appearance in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark. A combination of classic adventure movie, with additional touches of comedy, horror and thrills, the movie became an instant hit and Ford’s hero took no time in becoming a cinematic icon. After appearing in two further adventures, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, the franchise seemed to have come to a satisfactory conclusion. However, you can’t keep a good franchise down and Jones was back in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull almost 20 years after his last outing. Now, another 15 years later, and Jones is back for one final adventure, and it promises to be his biggest yet.

Will The Final Indiana Jones Movie Disappoint Fans?

The internet is a great place for anyone who doesn’t want to always know the facts about something. That is especially true when it comes to rumors about how well a movie is doing in early test screenings, and Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones bow has been the subject of plenty of rumors that don’t show it in a good light. Recently, director James Mangold took to his Twitter account in order to debunk rumors of “disastrous” test screenings, and that the movie’s ending would see Ford being replaced as the franchise lead. Responding to one message about the possibility of Indy being replaced in the franchise, Mangold said:

The director also shut down talk of terrible test screenings, simply responding to messages to say that there could not have been any disastrous test screenings, as there had not been any test screenings at all. While it seems there are some people out there who just don’t want the movie to do well, possibly after some of the mixed reviews that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull received, the majority of fans are eagerly awaiting the final chapter in one of the greatest movie franchises of all time. However, there are still a number of months to go until the film is released on June 30, 2023, which allows plenty of time for more speculation about what will befall Indy in his last adventure.

“Well, Paulo, it’s up to you who you believe – an anonymous troll named “basement dweller” & “doomcock” or the actual director of the film. No one will ever replace Indiana Jones. Not in any script. Not in any cut. Never discussed.”
