Iron Fist star Finn Jones has declared that his co-star, Jessica Henwick, should be brought back for a leading role in Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings 2. Speaking with Comicbook.com, Jones says that he hopes to see Henwick make an appearance in the MCU sequel, and that he hopes Henwick’s character, Colleen Wing, will still possess the power of the Iron Fist.

Season 2 of Iron Fist ends with Colleen becoming her own version of the Living Weapon, wielding the power of the Iron Fist and channeling it into her katana. While Iron Fist was met with much criticism, it was unanimously agreed that Jessica Henwick was one of the best things in it, and no doubt she would fit nicely into a Shang-Chi sequel.

“It would be nice to see Colleen come back and still have that Iron Fist as well. I think it would be cool if she showed up in Shang-Chi and still had the Iron Fist. There’s so much possibility that you can do with this from where we left off for season two.”

The relationship between the Netflix Marvel shows, such as Daredevil and Iron Fist, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains a peculiar one. Several of the characters and their respective actors, including Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, have now been folded into the MCU, with Cox set to receive his own series in Daredevil: Born Again.

Aside from the return of Daredevil, however, not much else has yet been revealed regarding the rest of The Defenders. Rumors and speculation have claimed that the likes of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher will be back, but there has been no word on Finn Jones’ Iron Fist or Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing.

Henwick herself has addressed the idea of Colleen returning in a Shang-Chi sequel, with the actress stating that she would be on board. “That definitely did come up in the discussion. If I did [Shang-Chi], I would effectively be putting Colleen to bed,” Henwick said in December last year. “It wasn’t the main factor, but it definitely came up in conversation. I love Colleen. She changed my life. Of course, if I was given the opportunity to revisit her, I would, but I just don’t know how likely that is. Charlie knew about that opportunity years ago. He already knew it was happening. I think I would have heard by now if there were any plans with Colleen.”

Finn Jones Wants to See Iron Fist in the MCU

Netflix pulled the plug on the likes of Iron Fist and Luke Cage back in 2018. While nothing has been revealed regarding either character’s comeback, Finn Jones has now said that he would love to reunite with Mike Colter’s Cage for a Heroes for Hire series.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2 will once again be written and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with Simu Liu set to reprise the title role.
