In 2017, a reboot of Stephen King’s scary clown novel and movie It was released in theaters, and it truly smashed the box office, proving that Pennywise is still just as terrifying. Fans of horror and King rushed to see it on the big screen in order to be transported to Derry, Maine, and relate to the characters as they defeat the alien clown. The young cast that made up the main roles were a hit, and perfectly emulated the characters from the original movie, as well as the novel. The 2017 movie gained a huge fandom, specifically in the younger generation, surrounding the young kids that shined in their roles. Fandom states that The Losers Club is led by Bill, flanked by Richie, Eddie, and Stan. They bring Ben, Mike, and Beverly into the group and from there, they face their worst possible fears. They’re all memorable characters, and for most of the actors, It was their big break. From this movie and IT: Chapter 2, they’ve all gone on to big projects with successful roles. That being said, here’s what the young group of actors is up to today.

Jaeden Martell

     Lionsgate

Jaeden Martell played Bill in both IT movies; the leader of the Loser club, and the brother of Georgie. Since the success of this modern remake of Stephen King’s movie, Martell has gone on to have an impressive path of starring in big films. In 2019, he played Jacob Thrombey in Knives Out; the hellish teenager that shouldn’t have had access to the internet. A year later, he starred in Defending Jacob, a miniseries that premiered on Apple TV+, alongside Chris Evans and Michelle Dockery. Most recently, he appeared in another Stephen King adaptation, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. Martell doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, so you can expect him to continue doing big things.

Finn Wolfhard

Finn Wolfhard is arguably the most well-known out of the IT (2017) cast, and he played Richie “Trash mouth” Tozier. It’s most likely that people know him for his role as Mike Wheeler in Netflix’s Stranger Things. Fans have about two years until Wolfhard closes the door on Mike Wheeler, but you can find him in other roles as well. In 2019, he starred in The Goldfinch as young Boris, which was great for his career. And more recently, he was in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. IGN states that another sequel will be released in December 2023.

Sophia Lillis

Sophia Lillis played Beverly Marsh, the only girl in the Losers Club, and the one that often kept them in check. Lillis has kept it kind of low key these past few years, but she starred in Netflix’s I Am Not Okay With This that ran for one season. She starred as Nancy Drew in Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, Young Camille in Sharp Objects, and in 2023, she will be playing The Druid in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Jeremy Ray Taylor

Similar to Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor hasn’t been that active in the acting world after playing Ben Hanscom. One of his more notable roles after the horror movie was playing Sonny in Goosebumps 2: Slappy’s Revenge. Taylor has also been in a handful of episodes of Big Sky, and his most recent movie was Senior Year, where he played Neil Chudd.

Chosen Jacobs

Chosen Jacobs played Mike Hanlon, the character who stays in Derry when everyone else leaves, and inevitably calls them all back when the alien clown returns. Jacobs took a somewhat different path from his cast mates (minus Wolfhard), and pursued a music career. Alongside his music, he was a recurring character in Hawaii Five-O, as well as a television short called When the Streetlights Go On. His most recent movies were Sneakerella; a modern retelling of Cinderella, where he starred as El, and Netflix’s Purple Hearts.

Jack Dylan Grazer

     Home Box Office (HBO)

Jack Dylan Grazer played Eddie Kaspbrak, the germaphobe that could never really catch a break from his friends. Grazer has had a steady career so far with his acting, and one of his most notable characters, besides Kaspbrak, was his role as Freddy Freeman in Shazam! In 2020, he starred in HBO’s We Are Who We Are and more recently, lent his voice in Disney’s Luca as Alberto.

Wyatt Oleff

Wyatt Oleff, like Jacobs, took a slightly different path from acting being his main focus, and is a gamer. He streams on Twitch and has a pretty large following, but the popularity from his role as Stan Uris in IT definitely helped with that. He starred alongside Sophia Lillis in I Am Not Okay With This, and on Instagram, the cast-mates still joke about wanting another season. Oleff has taken some movies that aren’t necessarily talked about at the same level as some of his cast-mates’ projects, such as Stay Awake (2022) and The Year Between (2022) but, he’s still making a name for himself within the acting world.

Jackson Robert Scott

Jackson Robert Scott is the youngest of the IT cast, but he gave one of the best performances as Georgie, the first victim of Pennywise the clown. Since playing such a monumental character in both films, Scott has gone on to star in Netflix’s Locke and Key as Bode Locke. Not only that, but he was also in a few episodes of WandaVision, the miniseries that gained so much support and interest after Avengers: Endgame. Scott has two movies in production, so there’s no stopping this young star.
