J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions company have acquired the rights to The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling’s final screenplay entitled The Stops Along The Way, which will be crafted into a TV mini-series.
The producer acquired the rights from Rod Serling’s widow, Carol Serling, who had this to say about the acquisition.
While no concrete details were given regarding the story, Carol Serling did have this to say about her late husband’s script.
“I’m terribly, wonderfully excited that J.J. is interested and going to do it. It was one of my husband’s favorite pieces. He thought it had great potential.”
Rod Serling initially envisioned The Stops Along the Way as a TV mini-series, but it was never formally developed by any network or studio before his death in 1975.
“(It involves) a little bit of fantasy, a little bit of imagination, (and it) takes place over a long period of time.”
