Screen veteran James Earl Jones has reached his 92nd birthday, and many fans are sending well wishes his way on social media in honor of the occasion. The actor’s name is trending with thousands of fans joining in to pay tribute in honor of Jones’ special day. Some fans are speaking about their favorite performances from Jones while others are sharing some of their favorite video clips featuring the Hollywood icon from different stages of his career.

James Earl Jones Will Forever Be the Voice of Darth Vader

With his distinct voice, James Earl Jones is especially beloved by Star Wars fans as the voice of the iconic antagonist Darth Vader. After spending decades providing his voice to the character, Jones announced in September that he was retiring from doing any more voiceover work for Star Wars. But he will remain the voice of Darth Vader, as he has signed off on allowing his voice to be used in future projects due to AI technology. The voice was recently featured in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi when Darth Vader returned.
Jones continues to act on occasion, as he also returned to provide the voice for the remake of The Lion King that was released by Disney in 2019. In 2021, he also reprised his role as King Jaffe Joffer in Coming 2 America, the sequel to the revered 80s comedy Coming to America.
