James Gunn has worked with many people over his career as a writer and director, but that doesn’t mean he will work with everyone. The Guardians of the Galaxy helmer recently revealed in a Twitter post that he has a list of actors he won’t work with. Having never been one to hold back his opinions when it comes to the Hollywood machine, Gunn laid out precisely the type of people not on his list of potential collaborators.
Gunn regularly engages with his fans on Twitter, and his latest discussion came in the form of a question from one of his followers, who asked whether the director would instantly recast an actor who was not working out or if they would get a second chance. Gunn replied:

Of course, Gunn wasn’t about to start naming names, but it is quite easy to believe that those actors on his list know that they are on his list. With Gunn currently coming to the end of his Marvel run with Guardians of the Guardian Vol. 3, he is now focusing on his DC projects, and at the moment, he has a select group of people who appear to be on his “good” list.

While James Gunn has always stated that he has loved working on the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, the director recently confessed that his final time in the director’s chair was not his favorite experience due to its “size and complexity.” He previously commented on Twitter:
The end of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, at least with the current cast and crew, is expected to be an emotional farewell for a number of much-loved characters, and star Zoe Saldana, who will be reprising her role as Gamora, previously praised Gunn’s work on the movie, but also called the whole experience “bittersweet.” She said:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 will hit cinemas in May 2023, while the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special comes to Disney+ in December 2022.
