James Gunn has hinted that fan-favorite The Suicide Squad character Weasel could appear in the second season of Peacemaker, although he could not guarantee that. Like many of the members of Task Force X, Weasel was one of those thought to have perished during the climax of the movie, but, like Cena’s Christopher Smith, the end credits revealed that Sean Gunn’s furry cretin was still alive and kicking. That is more than enough reason for fans to want to know if and when they might see him again.
In one of his many stints answering questions on Twitter, one fan said, “Seriously hoping that weasel makes an appearance in Peacemaker season 2.” In reply to this, the director, who is currently working on the latest Guardians of the Galaxy movie, responded by saying, “I can’t promise this. BUT… I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of Weasel.”

Now while this could suggest that Weasel will be a part of the next run out for Cena’s Peacemaker, it is just as likely that the character will be part of one of the other The Suicide Squad spin-offs that Gunn is said to be working on for Warner Bros. Having made a hugely successful start to his time working on Warner Bros. DC projects with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, it is likely that there will be a job there for Gunn as long as he wants it.
Sean Gunn Will Likely Be Back to Play Weasel in Any Future Projects.
Keeping things in the family, James Gunn’s brother Sean took on the role of Weasel in The Suicide Squad, and it is likely that the winning combination will continue the next time the character makes an appearance, whether that is in Peacemaker season 2 or some other unannounced project. Previously, Sean Gunn explained the process that he went through to create Weasel and how different it was to playing Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Just like his brother, Sean Gunn is also a lover of using social media to interact with fans, and he previously teased his “new show” when he shared a post on his Instagram saying, “Thrilled to announce my new show ‘T.D.K. & the Weasel’ coming soon to HBO Max! Note some information in this post may be untrue.” While it seems that he was only teasing, and that show doesn’t actually exist, it is clear that there is more to come from Weasel sometime in the future.
“This is not a man in a weasel suit. This is a real weasel. He’s really a giant weasel in a little bit of a man’s body. It was interesting because the work I’ve done as Rocket Raccoon is much different, it’s motion reference and it’s a different sort of process by which they put the character together. But for Weasel, I’m just doing the real mo-cap where I have on the balls and lights and colors and they were really capturing everything I did, which was awesome."
