50 Shades star Jamie Dornan is all set to co-star opposite Gal “Wonder Woman” Gadot in the upcoming international spy thriller Heart of Stone, from the house of Netflix and Skydance. Dornan recently turned heads with his performance in Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast, something that has already generated quite a bit of Oscar-buzz around him and has earned him a Critics Choice nomination as well as a Golden Globe nomination.

Gal Gadot’s association with the upcoming spy thriller from Netflix and Skydance media had already been previously confirmed, and it will be the Wonder Woman star’s next project with the iconic streaming platform after the Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-starrer Red Notice. The project has been a rather high-priority one for Netflix as well, which is understandable, following its competitive auction victory for the project back in January 2021.

Tom Harper, famed director of the 2018 musical Wild Rose and of the 2019 film The Aeronauts, an adaptation of Falling Upwards: How We Took to the Air by Richard Holmes, will be directing Heart of Stone, a spy thriller film whose plot is being kept under wraps for now. Still, the upcoming project has become the talk of the town already, first because of the fierce bidding war that Netflix won for the international rights to the script, and secondly, because of the star-studded ensemble to feature in the film.

What Have Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan Been Up to?

Gal Gadot by now needs no introduction, thanks to her performance as the iconic DC hero Wonder Woman, among other notable performances. Apart from the upcoming project, Heart of Stone, Gadot is also set to star in Cleopatra, a paramount project being directed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier director Kari Skogland. Incidentally, Skogland will be filling in for Patty Jenkins in Cleopatra, a director Gadot had previously worked with in the Wonder Woman films.

Jamie Dornan has recently earned critical acclaim for his performance as Pa in Belfast, written and directed by Kenneth Branagh about his experiences growing up in Northern Ireland, which is also where Dornan is from. His performance also earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award alongside the film’s talented ensemble cast, which boasts Caitríona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jude Hill, Ciarán Hinds, and Colin Morgan.

Heart of Stone is being produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, along with Mockingbird’s Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn, as well as Gadot and her husband Jaron Varsano via their own banner Pilot Wave.
