Following the recent release of her final film as Laurie Strode, Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrating the spooky holiday with a nod to the franchise and its fans. This month, director David Gordon Green released Halloween Ends, the third installment of a new trilogy of movies that was launched in 2018. The movies gave her the chance to revisit Laurie Strode one last time, and though she wrapped up her 44-year run in the role with Halloween Ends, Curtis has said she’ll be carrying Laurie with her wherever she goes for the rest of her life.

On Halloween, Curtis also paid tribute to Laurie and Halloween with a post on social media. She shared some behind-the-scenes photos from her time on the first film along with pictures of an original slate, call sheet, and screenplay. Curtis also wrote about her journey as Laurie that first began in 1978, recalling how the original movie came together at the time. As Curtis explains, the film has a simple premise, and yet it connected so very well with filmgoers.

Curtis also addressed her more recent run in the role with Green’s Halloween trilogy. Referring to the events of Halloween Ends, Curtis says that it isn’t exactly a happy ending, but she’s happy with the sense of hope that it brings. All in all, the legendary scream queen couldn’t be more proud of the character’s legacy that has endured for so long and goes on to offer her thanks to the Halloween fans.

Halloween Ends is still playing in movie theaters and can be found streaming on Peacock.
