Academy Award winner Jared Leto would love the opportunity to reunite with his fellow Academy Award winner and House of Gucci co-star, Al Pacino, for a prequel to the recent Ridley Scott true-crime drama. Speaking with SiriusXM about his experience working with the iconic actor, Leto even suggested a title for his proposed prequel, which would find Leto and Pacino as father and son, Paulo and Aldo Gucci, once again.

Directed by Ridley Scott, and based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, House of Gucci is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.

“I’d love to do a prequel to House of Gucci. Just the Two of Us, we could call it.”

Featuring an all-star cast alongside Jared Leto and Al Pacino, including Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani; Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci; Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci; and Salma Hayek as Giuseppina “Pina” Auriemma, Leto went on to describe meeting one of the greats of cinema, revealing that, thanks to Leto’s unrecognizable appearance, Pacino had no idea who he was.

Leto’s transformative performance in House of Gucci has earned him a lot of praise and several accolades. The actor is due to continue his penchant for disguise and altering his appearance in his next movie, Morbius, something which the actor recently described as “kind of the perfect role for me.”

“On the first day of set, he didn’t know it was me, and I came up to him and said, you know, ‘hello.’ And he just kind of brushed me off. He thought I was just an Italian weirdo that was trying to talk to him or get his autograph or something. I come up to him two or three times and someone finally whispered, ‘That’s Paolo, that’s Jared under there.’ And he was like, ‘My son, my son,’ and he fell to the floor. He was just astounded. Having that happen with one of the world’s greatest actors was a beautiful gift and gave me the faith that if Al can believe in this guy, then we all can. It was a boost of confidence early on, and I adored working with him.”

Coming courtesy of Sony, the movie will introduce Leto as one of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters, transforming the actor into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Suffering from a rare blood disorder, Morbius has dedicated his life to curing himself and others, carrying out an experiment that will have dangerous consequences. While it at first appears to be a radical success, Morbius’ unorthodox remedy slowly reveals itself to be potentially worse than the disease, transforming the good doctor into a monster.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius is scheduled to be released on April 1, 2022.
