Producer Jason Blum found a way to promote his newest film and celebrate Halloween at the same time. On Thursday, Blum attended a costume party and kept fans guessing who he would be dressing up as by posting picture updates on Twitter of his makeup getting applied. He was eventually revealed to be M3GAN, the killer doll from the upcoming horror film M3GAN from Blum’s Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures. Coming to theaters in January, a trailer for the movie was recently released.
“Happy Halloween, folks. A lot of you guessed it right,” Blum says in the final photo reveal of himself in costume, appearing as M3GAN and holding onto the ropes of a wooden swing. The producer followed this up with another image revealing a closer look at himself in the costume.

“M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to. When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (McGraw), Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems—a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.”
