Back in 2018, the first Aquaman became one of DC and Warner’s biggest hits after surpassing the $1 billion barrier at the box office. Right away, the company confirmed a sequel with Jason Momoa returning as the main character and James Wan directing once again. But it’s been more than four years, and we still have to wait until December to see it.
While we wait, Jason Momoa is letting the fans know some details about what they can expect to see in the long-awaited sequel. Speaking with The Wrap, the actor revealed the return of an unexpected character for the second part, Topo, the Atlantean octopus:
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will also include the return of Patrick Wilson as Oarm, who will be teaming up with Arthur Curry in the quest for a forgotten kingdom, with global warming being one of the movie’s main antagonists. Amber Heard’s Mera, Nicole Kidman’s Atlanna, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen’s Black Manta will also be a part of the film.
“Oh yeah. He’ll be back alright. But it’s hilarious. It’s wonderful. You’re gonna love it. This moment, I want you to remember that you asked me. It might be one of the funniest moments of the whole movie”.

Ben Affleck is also rumored to return as Batman, but considering the recent changes in Warner-Discovery, the creation of DC Studios, and James Gunn leading a new strategy for the extended universe, it might not happen after all.
Will Jason Momoa Play Lobo?

As he continues to play Aquaman, at least for one movie, Jason Momoa could soon become another DC character. Rumors have been saying that the actor could play the antihero Lobo, something that he recently addressed:
Created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen in 1983, Lobo first appeared in Omega Man #3. He is an alien from the utopian planet of Czarnia and works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Lobo was first introduced as a villain in the 1980s, but as he was brought back in the 1990s, he became extremely popular among the fans. This popularity led him to a much higher role in the DC Comics stories, confronting characters like Superman.
“I’ll always be Aquaman. The rumors are… I’ll always be Aquaman. Ain’t anyone coming in there and taking sh-t. And then, there might be some other characters too. I can play other things too. I can be funny and savage and charming, once in a while.”
