Jeff Bridges is back to work after a battle with cancer and fans can see where he will be popping up next in the new trailer for The Old Man. A drama thriller series set to debut on FX in June, The Old Man follows Bridges in the starring role as a former CIA operative who’s forced to put his old skills to good use when he’s targeted by an assassin. The Old Man is written by Black Sails co-creators Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine. The two are executive producing with Bridges, Warren Littlefield, Dan Shotz, and David Schiff. Fox 21 Television Studios produced in association with The Littlefield Company.
“Jeff Bridges is an iconic, extraordinary actor and to have him as the star of this series is an incredible moment for FX,” FX Entertainment’s Nick Grad said when the series was announced.

In 2020, Bridges announced that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma and was undergoing chemotherapy treatments. He updated his fans in September 2021 to let them know that his cancer had gone in remission. The Old Man will be his first major role after going back to work following his successful cancer battle.
