The Academy-Award-winning veteran actor, Jeff Bridges, is set to receive another award early next year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bridges has been chosen to receive the Lifetime Achievement award from the Critics Choice Awards. The ceremony will occur on January 15th, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California.
Jeff Bridges’ career started in the late 1950s, when he acted alongside his father in the black-and-white TV series Sea Hunt. Since then, he’s appeared in dozens of shows and films, including the 1982 sci fi film Tron and its sequel Tron: Legacy in 2010, as well as True Grit, Iron Man, The Giver, and The Big Lebowski. Most recently, he’s been working on the TV series The Old Man, which premiered on FX earlier this summer and has since been renewed for a second season. In the show, Bridges stars as a retired CIA operative who lives off-grid and is forced to leave when his remote home is invaded.

In 2020, Bridges had announced that he was diagnosed with cancer, which is now in remission, although it kept the seasoned actor off-set for some time. The now 73-year-old actor has recently announced he has no plans of retiring anytime soon. Bridges is also one of the co-founders of End Hunger Network and is the spokesman of the No Kid Hungry campaign.
Jeff Bridges received an Academy Award for his starring role in the 2009 film Crazy Heart, in which he portrays a down-and-out country singer who decides to turn his life around. Jeff Bridges also sang in the film, which also earned several other awards, including a Golden Globe for best actor, and another Golden Globe for best original song.
The Old Man premiered on FX on Jun 16th, 2022. Jeff Bridges plays the lead role, with supporting roles played by John Lithgow, Alia Shawkat, and Amy Brenneman. Created by Jonathan E. Steinberg, the series is based on the novel of the same name, written by Thomas Perry. A second season is confirmed to be in the works but does not have a release date yet.
