While it seemed from a statement last month that embattled Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor was leaving Transparent, that isn’t the case anymore. The actor revealed on November 19 that he apologized if any of his actions were aggressive or unwanted, and, “given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don’t see how I can return to Transparent.” However, a new report today from The New York Times reveals a representative for the actor revealed he has no plans to quit the series. Transparent creator Jill Solloway revealed that she was cooperating with the investigation and just a day before Jeffrey Tambor’s November 19 statement, a report claimed that Jill Solloway and the Transparent writers were planning to kill off Jeffrey Tambor’s Maura. While that was never confirmed by the studio or the creator, it is exactly the same scenario that the House of Cards writers are trying to work through after Netflix fired Kevin Spacey following a rash of sexual misconduct accusations against him. The report claimed Jill Solloway was “fighting to save the show from cancellation,” after the second allegation of sexual misconduct surfaced.
