When Murder Mystery became a surprise hit in 2019, it was always likely that the Jennifer Aniston/Adam Sandler comedy would be getting a sequel, and now the pair are back filming for the imaginatively titled Murder Mystery 2. Now Aniston has shared a video from the set of the movie showing some of the cast having a good time, including Adam Sandler, who does a little dance for his co-star. If nothing else, the video shows that the pair are having a great time filming the new movie, and they will be hoping that audiences will have as much fun watching it when it is released on Netflix.
Murder Mystery became one of those strangely standard Netflix offerings that instantly rocketed up the streaming chart to be one of their biggest hits in the platform’s history, but at the same time was mauled by critics. The film currently holds a poor 45% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but at the moment, critics seem to be significantly out of tune with what the public wants to watch, and it is the viewing numbers that dictate which films get a sequel and which don’t. Along with the likes of Red Notice, Murder Mystery was undoubtedly one that pulled in viewers and therefore had a sequel greenlit soon after its premiere.

In a new post on Instagram, Aniston shared a video taken on the film’s tropical set, as well as a photo of her and Sandler standing by the sea, with the caption, “Back to work with my buddy.” There is clearly a lot of fun happening on the set for the cast and crew, and this comes just a few weeks after several set images gave fans a first look at Aniston and Sandler on set in Hawaii, which may be the actual setting of the film or could be simply standing in for another location.

Murder Mystery 2 Will Be The Latest Movie Of Adam Sandler’s Netflix Deal

Murder Mystery 2 will be the third time Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston have appeared together following the first movie and Just Go With It in 2011, and it is also the latest movie to be produced from Sandler’s deal with Netflix. So far, the deal has led to Hubie Halloween, The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over, Sandy Wexler, and The Week Of, all of which have provided the platform with some reasonable hits, at least with audiences if not always the critics.

The latest movie will once again see the couple thrown into the middle of, surprise surprise, a murder mystery that they become unwittingly embroiled in. While there are no exact plot details known about the sequel, with filming well underway, it is possible that the movie will arrive on Netflix later this year. However, with Aniston in sharing mode, it may be a case that this isn’t the last set video we will see, and who doesn’t like to get a glimpse at the type of thing that goes on behind the scenes during filming breaks.
