Our man Jerry O’Connell has landed himself yet another gig on the reboot TV version of Pictionary for Fox. He’ll be squeezing his fast-paced drawing competition show between his The Talk responsibilities, his role on Star Trek: Lower Decks as Commander Jack Ransom, and voicing Rick Brackett for director Caroline Zelder’s Summer Gold with his buddy Justin Long.

JOC took to Instagram to celebrate the news, captioning with, “Gotta practice ‘What is that supposed to be?’ But POLITELY. Here we go! @foxtv”

Fellow Stand By Me alum, Wil Wheaton was one of the first to congratulate Jerry with, “F-ck yeah dude! Congratulations!”

He’s already getting tips from fans. Bakingfortheoffice suggests, “I think you say, “I can see you tried very hard” in a nice but condescending way.”

Mama Smash is echoing what many are worried about, “Congratulations!!! I hope you will still be staying on The Talk…You are so much fun!”

Speaking as he began his summer test run, O’Connell said, “Ever since my failed drawing of a koala bear, lost my mom and me our household Pictionary crown, I’ve wanted to prove myself on the Pictionary stage. I’m so happy to be working with this team from Fox and CBS. Sharpen your pencils, it’s going to be a fun summer.” Now he’s back for more!

“Our partnership with CBS Media Ventures produced an entertaining program worthy of a national launch, but more importantly, we needed to bring Jerry O’Connell back to teach me the game because I still stink at it,” said Frank Cicha, EVP of Programming for FOX Television Stations.

“After a successful summer run on FOX stations, we’re excited to continue our relationship with FOX and roll out Pictionary to the rest of the country,” said Jonathan Bingaman, EVP sales, CMV. “Game shows have been delivering impressive ratings and growth regardless of daypart, so this is a great opportunity for stations to add another well-known franchise to their lineups.”

Having grown up playing Pictionary, O’Connell shares, “now my kids are growing up playing Pictionary. All these tension-filled years of yelling, ‘What is that supposed to be’ and ‘Draw faster, Grandma,’ have culminated in this moment. Sharpen those pencils. Daytime just got a little more exciting.”

So until then we can look forward to giggling with Jerry O’Connell alongside Dolph Lundgren, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rob Schneider, Tyler Hollinger, Isadora Swann, Nicholas Turturro with Eric Roberts, Danny Trejo, Keith David and Malcolm McDowell in what’s sure to be a classic, Pups Alone! Just look at that trailer!
