MTV is reporting that Joel Silver (The Matrix) wants to make the redux of Logan’s Run in 3D.
The 1976 original starred Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Farrah Fawcett. It was based on a 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. The premise sees a future society that demands the death of everyone upon reaching a certain age. Anyone who veers from that destiny is dubbed a “runner” and is hunted by operatives known as Sandmen. Logan is a Sandman who is forced to go on the run.
“I’d like to make Logan’s Run [in 3-D],” he said. “It’s a movie I’ve always been intrigued with, excited by. We’re writing a script now and that should be a big 3-D movie and it should be devised and shot in 3-D. I think if we can pull it together, then it would be.”
Silver also said he wants to adapt DC Comics Lobo:
“I want to do Lobo too, and that should also be a 3-D movie,” he said. “We’re working on the script now a little bit more. We did a test, a very effective test. We’re moving forward and I hope we can get that together.”
