Every actor has to start somewhere. That’s a pretty common phrase in the entertainment industry. It is appropriate then, that this was John Boyega’s response when faced with the memory of one of his earliest roles – promoting puberty to teenagers. Yes, long before he became a Hollywood star, Boyega made a little money for a day’s work having photos taken for promotional material used in school.
The photo in question was shared on social media by a fan who recognized the smiling face of the Star Wars actor and wanted to ask him why he was in their child’s puberty class lecture. Boyega responded with a laughing emoji and commented:

Of course, this kind of throwback never comes without a certain amount of ribbing, but this time around, most of that came in the form of fans noting the use of the “ridiculously handsome” star in a puberty lecture and marveling at his journey from there to his Star Wars role.
“We all gotta start somewhere…This was a £50 payday! Look at that damn smile. I was already doing budgets. Looool”

One person said, “I wish puberty had a warning label. Like ‘Not guaranteed to be as ridiculously handsome as John Boyega.’” Another added, “This is hysterical – I love it! So humble! From puberty pamphlet to hero in A Galaxy Far, Far Away!” A third took it as a more inspirational sight, saying, “This shows people who we only can see their fame and success are not from nowhere. You are now where you are because of your hard work! 50 pounds well earned!!”
John Boyega Will Be Returning to His Attack The Block Role Soon
Optimum Releasing
John Boyega may have been a big part of the Star Wars sequels, but he seems to have now turned his back on that to concentrate on other projects. This includes the Netflix sci-fi comedy They Cloned Tyrone, to be released next month, and a return to one of his earliest film roles in Attack The Block 2.
Last month Boyega gave an update on the long-in-development sequel to his 2011 hit, which he and director Joe Cornish have wanted to make for some time. Talking about the project, Boyega said:
The original movie starred Boyega, Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker, Alex Esmail, Franz Drameh, Leeon Jones, Simon Howard and Nick Frost. Despite not being a hit at the box office, the movie was given a lot of praise by critics and became a cult hit, bringing a healthy mix of comedy, horror, and sci-fi together in a way that many other movies have tried and failed to do.
“We go back and look at the locations where we shot the first movie [Southwark and Walworth in south London]—once dodgy areas—and we find that it’s all gleaming, high-end apartments and Starbucks. There’s a whole world that we’re about to explore here with a whole new take on that universe, building and revisiting those characters.”
