Everyone’s favorite uncle, John Stamos, is eyeing a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor is well known for his role on Full House as Jesse Katsopolis, starring alongside Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Ashley Olsen.

Stamos recently starred in Big Shot for Disney+, following a college basketball coach who gets fired and sent to an elite all-girls private school to teach and coach. Now, the actor is setting his sights on one of the biggest franchises in the world, the MCU. High-level talent such as Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Maria Bakalova, Bill Murray, and Jonathan Majors are just a few names who have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe recently, and Stamos wants to add his name to the list.

During an interview with Collider, the 59-year-old said he would join the MCU “in a flash,” saying, “I would do it in two seconds.”

Stamos would undoubtedly have a lot to catch up on, as Marvel has consistently pumped out projects since 2008. With the recent additions of full-fledged TV series on Disney+, the storyline in the Cinematic Universe is continuously expanding.

“Are you kidding me? In a flash. It’s flash? Oh, that’s the other one. I would do it in two seconds. First of all, especially doing these voices, I was like, ‘Okay. Maybe it’s time for me to do a full feature film for you guys.’ I haven’t been offered anything. I often think I really know nothing about it. If I ever did, it would take me a month to try to figure it out. I might watch with my wife.”

Stamos Has Experience With Marvel Projects

Stamos is keen on joining the live-action Marvel Universe. However, the actor has already played a significant role in another Marvel project this year. Spidey and His Amazing Friends is an animated television series following Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales as they team up with various heroes in the Marvel catalog. Stamos joined the series as Tony Stark/Iron Man earlier this year, playing the iconic hero who became a household name following Robert Downey Jr’s portrayal.

Although Spidey and His Amazing Friends is relatively small compared to the big-budget productions in the MCU, Stamos was still able to get a feeling for what it’s like to work on a comic book-centered project. Apparently, the actor enjoyed his time in the Stan Lee-created world and is more than ready to continue his work in a live-action setting. You can catch Stamos in his role as Coach Korn in Big Shot season 2, arriving on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
