It’s looking like Johnny Knoxville will be crashing WWE’s Royal Rumble show this month to help promote the upcoming release of Jackass Forever. In a video posted to the sequel’s official account on Twitter, Knoxville announces that his New Year’s resolution is to win the Royal Rumble. He also takes some jabs at a couple of the wrestling company’s top talents, suggesting none of them stand a chance against him. You can watch the announcement video below.

“Alright, it’s New Year’s Day, and I have been thinking about all of the things I want to do in 2022,” Knoxville says in the video. “Of course, Jackass Forever comes out February 4th, and I am happy about that, but I want to do something else. Something big. That’s right, I want to make the run for the Rumble. I am talking about the WWE’s Royal Rumble. Thirty men enter, one guy is left standing. That’s me.”

Feeling confident in scoring the victory, Knoxville adds: “You know, I’ve seen the current list of WWE wrestlers, and frankly, I’m not impressed. They don’t have anyone big enough to throw me over the top rope. What, is Little E or Roman Ruins going to do it? Ha! And Vince McMahon, you’ve always been really kind to us, and we appreciate it, but I sincerely hope you are auditioning bigger, tougher talent for the 2022 Royal Rumble because I don’t want to hurt anyone. So, just like the shirt says, ‘Johnny Knoxville, world champ.’ Woo hoo!”

An annual show held by WWE, the Royal Rumble is a type of match that consists of 30 participants. It begins with two wrestlers in the ring with more wrestlers entering in intervals until there’s no one left. The only way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor on the outside of the ring. While Knoxville is downplaying the size of WWE’s biggest stars, the reality is he’s going to look very small to the wrestlers once he’s actually in the ring for the Rumble, and tossing 300-pound pros to over the top rope isn’t going to be as easy as he thinks.

This is all done in promotion of Jackass Forever, the fourth and likely final installment of the Jackass movie series. As was the case in the prior movies and original TV series, the sequel will bring back most of the original stars to carry out dangerous stunts and elaborate pranks on one another. Along with Johnny Knoxville, the movie stars Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Jason “Wee Man” Acuna, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy. Bam Margera was originally involved with the project until he was fired early on, and the former Jackass star has filed a lawsuit against the Jackass Forever team with the hopes of blocking its release

Jackass Forever is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on Feb. 4, 2022. As for the Royal Rumble, which will apparently include Johnny Knoxville attempting to win, the event will be streaming on Peacock at no extra cost for subscribers on Jan. 29.
