Jon Favreau is getting his name placed onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame this month. The ceremony has been scheduled for Feb. 13 at 11:00 a.m. PT and will be streamed live at the Walk of Fame website. Located at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard, this marks the 2,746th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Marvel Cinematic Universe co-star Robert Downey Jr. and The Chef Show partner Chef Roy Choi will also be present alongside emcee Lupita Sanchez Cornejo for the unveiling of the star.

“Hitmaker Jon Favreau is a triple threat with his work in film television and as an actor himself” says Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer Ana Martinez. “His film and television work will be a part of Hollywood’s zeitgeist forever.”

Favreau is getting inducted through the category of Television, though his work has been with both the big and small screens. He started as an actor, appearing in movies in the 1990s like Rudy and PCU. Favreau got more into the creative side by writing the 1996 comedy Swingers in addition to starring. The Walk of Fame harkens back to Favreau’s beginnings to his ongoing success as a filmmaker to tout why he’s fully deserving of this honor.

“He has continued to challenge himself as a filmmaker and innovator with an eclectic variety of projects, pioneering cutting-edge technology and production techniques within the framework of classic Hollywood storytelling,” as a press release notes.

A man of many talents, Favreau executive produces and directs The Chef Show for Netflix. The series follows Favreau and Chef Roy Choi delving into different kinds of foods while joined by special guests. Robert Downey Jr., who will be at the Walk of Fame ceremony with Choi, appeared on the show.

Favreau is also widely celebrated for his work in the Star Wars franchise. While the recent films have taken a lot of flak, the praise for The Mandalorian, which was created by Favreau who also serves as showrunner, has been practically universal, and the series has won 14 Emmy awards. He also developed the spinoff The Book of Boba Fett and is executive producing the upcoming shows Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew.

Favreau has also done recent work with Disney, directing the theatrical remakes of The Jungle Book and The Lion King. More recently, he executive produced and served as showrunner on Prehistoric Planet, a docuseries for Apple TV. The show was nominated for the Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information.
