Stranger Things season 4 breakout Joseph Quinn is grabbing eyeballs everywhere he goes, even at the airport. Joseph Quinn was on his way to guest star on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon when he had an odd encounter with U.S. Immigration at the airport. In a routine check, the officials recognized him from Stranger Things and demanded that he return for the next season.

Joseph Quinn played the Hawkins outcast Eddie Munson in the latest season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, instantly taking over the fandom with his powerful performance. Quinn had no idea just how recognizable and adored he had become, but he’s finding out lately.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Quinn appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the clips of which you can check out below. The British actor recalled the fun little incident on the talkshow.

“And then [the colleague] said, ‘It’s Eddie from Stranger Things,’ and he was like, ‘You’re Eddie Munson?'”

“I very nearly didn’t make it. I was taken into, I guess what you could call it, was more of a dungeon. And I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes and then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, Sir?’ Well I’m actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show.’ And he didn’t believe me. And one of his colleagues looked over at me, looked at him, and said: ‘Leave Eddie alone.’”

When Quinn confirmed his identity, the officer only had one question for him that probably everyone has been meaning to ask and already knows the answer to but is just too sad to accept: “Do you come back next season?” “I don’t know,” replied Quinn, to which the officer asserted, “You better,” and handed him his passport.

As much as everyone wants to see Eddie return, it’s unlikely to happen as he succumbed to his injuries in the Stranger Things season 4 finale. Eddie had developed a reputation for running away from problems but decided to stand up when it really mattered and died trying to save his friends. Maybe Eddie could return in a flashback sequence, but the chances of him actually surviving look bleak. But you never know with sci-fi. Anything can happen.

Joseph Quinn Was Moved To Tears By Fan-Response To His Stranger Things Character

Quinn was recently hounded by London Film and Comic-Con organizers for interacting too long with fans while signing autographs. The staff apparently screamed at him and forced him to keep the line moving. Quinn’s treatment was condemned on social media, and when he finally appeared on stage to answer fan questions, he was greeted with deafening applause. One fan, Kimberley Burrows, who is a blind artist and uses a guide dog, Tami, thanked Quinn for his kindness towards the pair and for taking a picture with them earlier, describing the moment as “beautiful.”

The emotional interaction brought Quinn to tears. He was visibly surprised by the love he was receiving from fans. While there is no word on his Stranger Things future, the show has been renewed for a fifth and final season that will conclude the beloved Netflix series. Hopefully, the Stranger Things goes out with a bang.

“This isn’t really a question, it’s more of an extension of gratitude. I’m sure a lot of us heard what happened yesterday. I just wanted to say thank you from all of us. We’re really grateful you’re spending the time. I think we’ve all really connected with Eddie for one reason or another. Whether we liked his music taste or that he is the outsider … we’ve all traveled far because we all really connect with you as well.”
