Yellowstone season 5 is adding some new faces to its already massive star cast while also bringing back a few familiar ones. Josh Lucas, who played the younger version of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton in the first two seasons, will star in a recurring capacity in Yellowstone season 5. Other returning actors include Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner; Kylie Rogers as Young Beth Dutton; and Kyle Red Silverstein as Young Rip Wheeler.
Per Deadline, Mo Brings Plenty and Wendy Moniz, who’ve been starring in Yellowstone since season 1, have been upped to series regulars for season 5. Yellowstone Season 5 Will Premiere This November
Paramount
Yellowstone has proven to be a colossal success for the Paramount Network, so much so that an entire universe has been mapped out around the show. Half a dozen Yellowstone spinoff shows are in development at Paramount, including 1932, which has Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren attached to star. Considering Yellowstone’s massive popularity, it was no surprise when the show was renewed for a super-sized season five. Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks, said at the time:
Consisting of 14 episodes in total, Yellowstone season five will be the longest one yet and will be split into two parts, featuring seven episodes each. Production is currently underway in Montana, and part one will arrive on Paramount Network on November 13, 2022.
“Yellowstone’s record-breaking performance proves we’ve tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the center of the country to each of the coasts. Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America’s favorite family and, this new season is sure to be another one fans won’t want to miss.”
Yellowstone is created by Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Wind River, Mayor of Kingstown) and John Linson and produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. The show features an ensemble cast led by Academy Award winner Kevin Costner, alongside Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, and Ryan Bingham. They will all reprise their roles in Yellowstone season 5.
The official plot synopsis for the show reads:
Hopefully, season 5 won’t disappoint like the last outing of Yellowstone, which began with a promising start but somewhat failed to live up to expectations.
“Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.”
