Don’t hold your breath for a third season of The Flight Attendant on HBO. The first two seasons of the series featured The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco in an acclaimed performance as the titular flight attendant, Cassie Bowden. Seasons 1 and 2, which culminated with the season 2 finale on May 26, have both garnered critical praise, and some viewers may be hoping that more story will be told with a potential third season.
As of now, there are no official plans at HBO to develop The Flight Attendant season 3. In a new interview with People, Cuoco explains that it’s still unclear if the show will continue on the cabler, but odds are that it probably won’t happen. Cuoco says there is “interest” in a possible renewal, but she also feels that the season 2 finale would serve as a great way to cap off the series, and she’d be happy to wrap things up as they are and move on to the next project.

Cuoco hasn’t totally written off the idea of returning as Cassie Bowden for season 3. However, she wants to take a break from the series before getting on board that plane once again. Not only would she need to feel the same excitement she felt for seasons 1 and 2, Cuoco says the fans would need to also be clamoring for it to happen.
If Season 3 Happens, Where Will It Go?

Clearly, Kaley Cuoco is not in a rush to do another season of The Flight Attendant. But if the series gets renewed, Cuoco would ideally like to see the new episodes explore more of Cassie’s sobriety journey.
At the end of the day, however, Cuoco would be very happy with season 2 serving as the end of the series, even if she’s leaving the door open for a potential return.
