Kate Winslet is a household name—but that wasn’t always the case. The Titanic actress, now 47, was only a teen when she made her first on-screen appearance on British television. Though Winslet would go on to build an impressive resume over the years, packed with titles like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Revolutionary Road, it seems that the actress hasn’t forgotten what it’s like to be a young professional who’s just starting out.

Sitting down with German broadcaster ZDF to promote her latest film, Avatar: The Way of Water, Winslet paused the session upon learning that the young journalist she was speaking with had never actually conducted an interview before.

In the sweet video that’s been circulating on social media, Winslet comforts the aspiring journalist with words of encouragement, taking a moment to make a stressful situation less scary.

“This is your first time doing it? Ok, well guess what? When we do this interview, it’s going to be the most amazing interview ever. And do you know why? Because we’ve decided that it’s going to be,” the actress assures the interviewer, named Martha, adding that the girl can ask her anything at all.

“So, we’ve decided right now, me and you, that this is going to be a really fantastic interview. You can ask me anything that you want, and you don’t have to be scared. Everything is going to be amazing. Ok? You’ve got this. Ok, let’s do it!”

As the video of Winslet and Martha made its rounds on social media Monday, others have come forward to share their own sweet experiences with Winslet.

“Kate Winslet was the first celebrity I ever interviewed IRL. I was terrified. She was nicer than she had any incentive to be,” writer Elena Nicolaou tweeted, recounting how the actress gracefully took the lead to help out a budding professional.

“Touched my arm like a mom and guided me off the small red carpet to make sure we could hear each other. Definition of generosity and grace.”

“Junkets can be really nerve-wracking. Words of encouragement and kindness like this can go such a long way. I’ve been lucky enough to interview this lady and she’s as real as they get. Incredibly thoughtful and genuine,” reporter Liv Marks added of her own interactions with the actress.
