According to Kathryn Hahn, the upcoming MCU series Agatha: Coven of Chaos could include some songs here and there. Back at the beginning of 2021, Marvel Studios inaugurated a new side of its great franchise with the debut of the first original project of the company for television: WandaVision, available only on Disney+.
The series was a huge success. It had a fantastic reception from the fans and the critics, with Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness winning over the audience and becoming one of the most popular new characters for Marvel, which earned her a series on her own.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to debut later this year on the platform, and it will continue to tell the story of the villain that crossed paths with Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff. And, in a surprising turn of events, it could feature some singing, as Kahn told TVLine:
Considering WandaVision was a sitcom that referred to many other shows from the same genre, Agatha: Coven of Chaos could easily take the same road, paying homage to musicals and other iconic stories.
“Um, her costumes and her nails. They’re fabulous. And who knows, there may be a little song here or there… but no one is saying anything about that — certainly not me!”.
In addition to Hahn, other actors confirmed to be a part of the Agatha: Coven of Chaos include Joe Locke (Heartstopper), Aubrey Plaza (White Lotus), Ali Ahn (Raising Dion), Maria Dizzia (The Good Nurse), Sasheer Zamata (Home Economics), Debra Jo Rupp (That ’70s Show) and Emma Caulfield Ford who will reprise her role of Dottie from WandaVision.
Marvel Studios’ Future on Disney+
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Agatha: Coven of Chaos isn’t the only series that will debut on Disney+ this year. What If…? will come back to tell alternative stories with our beloved heroes and terrifying villains with its second season. Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will also return for the Secret Invasion series, along with Cobie Smulders and Emilia Clark’s debut in the MCU.
Another fan-favorite character that will be back on-screen is Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in season 2 of his show. Last but not least, Riri Williams will shine on her own in the first season of Ironheart, a new Marvel Studios original series.
Echo, a spin-off centered on the character played by Alaqua Cox on Hawkeye, was set to premiere this year on the platform too, but it was removed from the calendar a few months ago. The series will probably arrive in 2024, connecting with Daredevil: Born Again, since Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will be a major villain for both shows.
