Almost a year after the tragic passing of Bob Saget, his widow, Kelly Rizzo, wants to remind everyone to “cherish every moment.” Saget, a comedy legend known for Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos, passed away on Jan. 9, 2022 after performing stand-up in Florida. Police say the 65-year-old died of head trauma, likely from a fall in his hotel room.

Rizzo, who’d been married to Saget since 2018, took to Instagram to share some photos of the two together celebrating Christmas. She shares the story of their final Christmas together before reflecting on how “grateful” she feels to have had the time sh did with Saget. Rizzo goes on to thank everyone who’s been there to support her over the past year.

“Cherish every single moment. I certainly didn’t think that our first Christmas together (in the same city) last year would be our last,” Rizzo says in the post. “I’m so glad we had that special time together,” Rizzo shares. “He got to spend time with my niece Alex, who was only 2, and got to meet my niece Brooklyn who was only 2 weeks old. Alex still remembers ‘Uncle Bob’ and talks about him every single day. He certainly left a lasting impression that I’m so grateful for. But Bob did that with everyone he met.”

She goes on to add, “The holidays are a time for hope, love, and togetherness. I pray that if you’re missing a loved one this holiday season, that you’re blessed with many deep and loving memories and gratitude that will help carry you through. As I’ve said before, I’m just so grateful that I got to have that incredible man in my life and that I got to be in his for 6 years. There’s no greater Christmas present than that. Sending love and prayers and wishes to you all. And I cannot thank you all enough for almost a full year of all the love and support and kindness from everyone. It means more than you know. I can only hope to show you how thankful I am and give it back a bit over time.”

Bob Saget Is Missed By Many

     Comedy Dynamics

Shortly after Saget’s passing, Rizzo penned a tribute noting how she considered herself lucky to have been married to the “MOST INCREDIBLE MAN ON EARTH.” While her bond with Saget was obviously special, she’s one of many who were left heartbroken and still miss the gentle funnyman. After Saget’s death, John Stamos and some of his other friends got together to create a tribute show which is now streaming on Netflix.

“He would always tell you how much he loved you, why he loved you,” Stamos has said of how loving Saget was with everyone. “He never got off the phone. I could show you; it’s ‘I love you. I love you.’ Fifty times, a million times.”
