Free Guy and Stranger Things director Shawn Levy has revealed that he is working hard on building the Stranger Things Cinematic Universe, and he has been getting advice from the best possible source: Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. Speaking with Variety, Levy has now signed on to bring Deadpool 3 to the big screen for Marvel and Disney, and while crafting that particular project, has turned to Feige for advice on how to expand the world of Stranger Things.
Hey, if you’re going to get advice from someone, you may as well get it from the very best. While there have been several attempts to create shared cinematic universes, none have seen the same success as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Kevin Feige as its figurehead, the MCU has made billions at the box office, been largely met with critical acclaim, and continues to impress with its affinity for continuous expansion, even 29 movies and several television series in.
“Yes, we are building out the STCU, and now that I’m spending time with [chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment] Kevin Feige, I’m learning a lot about how to manage a universe. So I’m taking those skills and applying them to the STCU.”

No doubt that Shawn Levy and The Duffer Brothers would be more than happy to duplicate even just a sliver of this same success with the STCU.
Stranger Things Spinoffs Will Focus on Brand New Characters
Netflix
Netflix is clearly very much staying in the Stranger Things business beyond the conclusion of the main series with the upcoming fifth and final season. Spinoff ideas are already in development, and while many have theorized that they could focus on Eleven, Hopper, and other familiar faces, The Duffer Brothers have since revealed that they will instead introduce brand-new characters.
The creators behind Stranger Things went on to clarify how the spinoffs will connect to the original series saying, “There is story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it really is more about how we’re telling that story.”
Though the spinoffs will bring in new faces, Matt Duffer has revealed that Stranger Things Season 5 will do its best to only focus on the old ones. “And the same was true with Sadie and Maya. And it’s not like the actors don’t know [either]. They all know that they’re coming into a cast people love, and you’re introducing a new element,” he began. “And you’ve seen it on shows go wrong, and so they’re all nervous, but like Ross said, with those particular three, and Dacre [Mongomery] as well, who played Billy, it was like, because these actors are amazing it’s just really fun. I just like shaking it up, so we shake it up by changing the plot or adding in a new monster. We’re doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5. We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters, I guess.”
Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Matthew Modine and Paul Reiser, the first four seasons of Stranger Things are now available on Netflix. Stranger Things Season 5 has not yet been given a release date.
