A Mad Men spinoff starring Kiernan Shipka is not out of the cards for the 22-year-old actress. While she has since went on to star in her own Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Shipka is well recognized from her role on Mad Men as Sally Draper, the daughter of Jon Hamm’s Don Draper on the hit AMC drama. Spending many of her formative years on the series, Shipka still looks back fondly at the role and is open to revisiting Sally one day in the future.
Speaking about Mad Men in a new interview with ET, Shipka touched on the possibility of doing a spinoff following Sally as a young adult navigating life in the 1980s. She says she’s “not done” with Sally at all, feeling that there’s plenty more story left to tell with the character. Shipka even has an idea of what the spinoff would be like, picturing Sally moving from New York to Los Angeles for an entirely different setting. As Shipka explains:

Shipka also says she recently ran into her TV dad, Jon Hamm, noting how the dynamic of their relationship has changed now that Shipka is an adult. She says she reunited with him at an Oscars party while she had a drink in hand, and though it was “weird” at first, they “speak like adults now.”
Mad Men was created by Matthew Weiner and ran on AMC from 2007-2015. Set during the 1960s, the series primarily follows Don Draper and his efforts to stay on top in the world of New York advertising firms, along with his family life at home. The show was an immense success and garnered widespread acclaim along with 16 Emmy Awards and 5 Golden Globe Awards. Along with Shipka and Hamm, the series cast included Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Jared Harris, Robert Morse, and Vincent Kartheiser.
Kiernan Shipka Will Soon Revisit Another Popular Character
The CW
Just last week, it was reported that Kiernan Shipka would be revisiting her Chilling Adventures of Sabrina character for an appearance in season 6 of Riverdale. It is not her first appearance on the show as she previously guest-starred as Sabrina for a crossover episode. Her involvement is now confirmed to be more than a one-off, though the long-term plans for Sabrina remain unclear. Many fans are still hoping her Chilling Adventures will continue with a series revival outside of Netflix.
Shipka has also appeared in films like One & Two, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, and The Silence, among others. She also stars in the new Roku series Swimming with Sharks, based on the 1994 movie of the same name. Also starring Diane Kruger and Donald Sutherland, the series follows a “young female assistant at the center of a studio filled with manipulators and schemers,” which oddly enough sounds reminiscent of Mad Men.
