Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons got married. The former’s team confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter. Dunst and Plemons began their relationship after meeting on the set of the critically acclaimed second season of Fargo.

The couple started dating in 2016, a year after the TV season aired. One year after their relationship began, they got engaged. The actors have two sons together. Eldest child Ennis is 4 years old, while second son James is 14 months old. Specific details regarding the wedding have yet to be revealed. Pictures have not been viewed. Ennis was born a year after the two became engaged. James was born about a year before the couple’s nuptials.

Back in February, Dunst spoke to The Los Angeles Times about her desire to soon tie the knot with her fiancé. The interview was conducted because of the couple’s first Oscar nominations, each for performances in the Netflix western The Power of the Dog. The discussion eventually delved into the pair’s personal lives.

Dunst discussed how she and Plemons already considered themselves married. She told The Los Angeles Times, We call each other husband and wife. But we have to get married at this point. It’s ridiculous. We just haven’t planned a wedding. There was COVID, then we had another child. I didn’t want to be pregnant, get married, have a party and not be able to have fun with everybody." Multiple factors led them to delay their plans, including a worldwide pandemic and a new baby. With the recent wedding, the two have finally made things official. Given that their engaged relationship was longer than their dating relationship, the wedding is something they have been anticipating for a long time.

In a November interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dunst expressed her wish to work together again with her now-husband. Dunst said, “We have some ideas, and Jesse and I definitely want to another project. He’s my favorite actor to work with.” No future projects starring the two have been announced yet. With the Netflix film and FX television series, they have experience working alongside one another on the big and small screen. With their talent and experience working on the same sets, it is likely only a matter of time before they act in a new project together. Since the movie was a western and the tv show was a crime drama, the actors have proven they can do well together in several genres.

In Fargo’s second season, Dunst and Plemons starred as Peggy and Ed Blumquist. The characters are a married couple that encounters danger after Peggy accidentally runs over a member of a powerful crime family. The fictional couple repeatedly talked hopes for having kids. The wishes are made all the more tragic with Ed’s death at the conclusion of the season.

Unlike the show’s duo, the real-life couple ended up having kids together. They received critical acclaim for their performances. Both were nominated for Emmys the same year they started dating. This marked the first of two occasions in which both actors got award nominations for the same project. Although neither won the television award, they arguably got something better in gaining a relationship that has led to marriage.
