Fallout Has Long Been Popular With Gamers
Bethesda
The Fallout video game series began with the original installment in 1997. There have since been several sequels and spinoffs, the most recent being the online multiplayer version of the game called Fallout 76. The games are set in a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by nuclear warfare, with many survivors having holed up in underground vaults. Others above ground are doing their best to survive in a dangerous world filled with radiation, murderous thieves, and aggressive monsters.
Fallout is also one of many upcoming shows in the works based on a popular video game franchise. Peacock has in development a Twisted Metal series with Anthony Mackie attached to star in the lead role. Over at HBO, filming was recently wrapped on a TV series based on the hit video game The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. This follows the success of video game movies in theaters in recent years, which includes Detective Pikachu, Mortal Kombat, and the Sonic the Hedgehog movies.
Fallout does not yet have a premiere date set at Prime Video. More casting announcements are likely to be coming in the near future as production on the video game based series draws closer.
