LeBron James is bringing the life and accomplishments of late rapper Nipsey Hussle to the forefront with a new docuseries, according to Deadline. The Hustle & Motivate artist tragically died in 2019 after receiving 10 gunshot wounds in the parking lot of his own store, Marathon Clothing. Now, the Los Angeles Lakers star is collaborating with his Springhill entertainment company and Hussle’s Marathon Films to produce a docuseries following the life of the artist.
According to Deadlines report, the series will follow Hussle’s younger days growing up in Crenshaw, then his life as a musician and activist. The doc will feature exclusive interviews and archival footage with appearances from 50 collaborators, including Diddy, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and his partner, Lauren London. A teaser for the upcoming project can be found below.

Hussle was an accomplished artist, with 5 Grammy nominations and two wins. His album, Victory Lap, received a Best Rap Album nomination at the 2019 Grammy’s. He owned his own label, All Money In, and spent much of his later career giving back to his community. His Marathon Clothing store opened in 2017 on the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, serving as a community area in the Crenshaw commercial district. He also partnered with Puma to renovate a local school playground and a basketball court and created Vector90, which taught STEM skills to locals.
One9 will direct and serve as EP on the project, with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Philip Bryon being just a few who join him. The upcoming docuseries has yet to receive an official release date.
