While Jordan took on many memorable roles over the course of his career, he is especially popular with Will & Grace fans for his unforgettable, Emmy-winning run as Beverley Leslie. In the wake of the news, actor Eric McCormack, who plays the titular Will in the sitcom, took to Twitter to post a message of remembrance for his friend and co-star.
“Crushed to learn about the loss of Leslie Jordan, the funniest & flirtiest southern gent I’ve ever known,” he said. “The joy and laughter he brought to every one of his Will and Grace episodes was palpable. Gone about thirty years too soon. You were loved, sweet man.”

Sean Hayes, who starred in the sitcom as Jack McFarland, also took to Twitter to offer his condolences. The actor posted an image of himself from the show alongside Jordan while expressing how much he’ll be missing the talented funnyman.
Hayes wrote, “My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend.”
Megan Mullally also posted a photo of herself from the series with Jordan to Instagram and wrote a lengthy message paying tribute to the actor. She notes that her “heart is breaking” as she expresses just how wonderful Jordan was at what he did.
“leslie jordan was, hands down, one of the greats,” the message reads in part. “people use that expression a lot, and i’m not sure it’s always applicable. there aren’t that many people who are truly great at anything. but leslie was flawlessly funny, a virtuoso of comedy. his timing, his delivery, all apparently effortless. you can’t get any better than that.”
After remembering the last time she saw Jordan, Mullally added, “and so. love you, leslie. miss you already. and one thing i know for sure… there will never ever be another you.”
