Sex and the City writer Jenny Bicks will pen a pilot script for HBO, BermanBraun and Sony Pictures TV. The project is tentatively titled Modern Love and is loosely based on the Modern Love column in the New York Times’ Sunday Styles section. Alan Poul (Six Feet Under) is attached to direct the project. According to Variety, the pilot will revolve around the fictionalized male editor of the column and his family life as he endures a messy divorce, a strained relationship with his teenage daughter and a difficult return to the world of dating....

Actor Kevin Spacey has been found not liable for battery on allegations that he picked up Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp and laid on top of him in a bed following a 1986 party, CNN reports. Rapp, who was 14 at the time, alleges that Spacey (then 26) invited him back to his Manhattan residence to watch television after a party. At the apartment, the actor claims, Spacey picked the boy up, laid him down on the bed, grabbed his buttocks, and pressed his groin into Rapp’s body—all without consent....

USA Today have published some brand new photos and an interview with producer Brian Grazer of the highly anticipated Da Vinci Code follow-up, Angels and Demons. The Columbia Pictures film stars Tom Hanks, Ayelet Zurer, and Ewan McGregor. Angels and Demons opens in theaters May 15th, 2009. Grant Gustin is reportedly in negotiations to finalize his contract with The CW for The Flash season 9, which would almost certainly bring the ninth season to the CW. Since the show launched in 2014, Gustin has played The Flash/Barry Allen. The show was part of DC Arrowverse on the CW and was created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns. The series also stars Candice Patton, Jessie L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Jordan Fisher, Danielle Panabaker, and Kayla Compton....

Harrison Ford has just lined up his next role with Apple TV+ taking the veteran actor to the small screen for the upcoming comedy series Shrinking. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Ford will co-star with Jason Segel in the series, which is developed by Segel and Ted Lasso producers Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein. The casting marks Ford’s first ongoing role in a TV series. In Shrinking, a “grieving therapist (Segel) begins to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks....

The network has ordered nine episodes of the series, which is based off George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series, on top of the pilot episode for a 10-episode first season. Game Daily has posted an interview with film producer Adrian Askarieh about his slate of films based on video games such as a sequel to the 2007 film which he produced, Hitman, Kane & Lynch and Just Cause. As far as Kane & Lynch go, the producer confirmed the news from this summer that Bruce Willis would play Kane and revealed they are currently seeking their Lynch. Askarieh revealed that Kyle Ward has been hired to write the sequel to Hitman, but it wasn’t quite clear if they’d get Timothy Olyphant back, due to his new FX TV series Lawman....

The Good A well acted and well directed film that shines with an above average transfer and is supplemented with a few short but sweet extras. The Bad The surround track is a bit flat and you can get through the extras in about 30 minutes. Real film noir hasn’t been seen in awhile maybe since L.A Confidential. While Hollywoodland t quite 100% film noir, it shares elements of it and makes the story feel a little modern in a good way....

The Good A highly original film really turns the whole idea of fairy tales on their ear. The Bad At the end, I think this movie sort of becomes the kind of film it is lampooning. To be quite honest, I have never really gotten what was so great about the Shrek movies. I thought they looked incredible but I never saw what everyone else saw was so great about them....

Samuel Hadida announced today that his company, Davis Films, has acquired film rights from authors P.C. and Kristin Cast to their phenomenally successful House of Night young adult fiction book series. The ninth book in the series, Destined, was just published on October 25. The series, from the mother-daughter writing team, has sold over 12 million copies in the United States, keeping it on The New York Times bestseller list for a record 140 weeks....

There are certain staples that people think of when they imagine going to the movies. A dark theater, rows upon rows of seats, and enjoying a nice bucket of popcorn. Dimension Films today announced plans to make a feature film based on the hugely popular and entertaining classic television show Welcome Back, Kotter with Ice Cube attached to star in the title role. Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez are producing the project through their production company, Cube Vision, along with Andrew Lazar. Tom Brady is in negotiations to write the script and direct. The announcement was made today by Bob Weinstein....
