For A Friend of the Family star Jake Lacy, playing the role of a child predator was not one he took lightly. The Peacock miniseries follows the incredible true story of Jan Broberg (Hendrix Yancy and McKenna Grace), who was abducted at the age of twelve by neighbor and close family friend Bob Berchtold (Lacy) in 1974. When the two were discovered in Mexico, Broberg was returned to her parents—only to be abducted by Berchtold again two years later....

James Caan has stepped down from the political comedy Nailed after a dispute with director David O. Russell over what appears to be a cookie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trouble started Wednesday on the first of Caan’s two days of shooting the role of a U.S. speaker of the house who chokes to death on a cookie. Russell asked him to cough as he choked, but Caan argued that the character couldn’t cough and choke to death at the same time....

One of the many projects that director James Cameron could take on after his visit to Pandora is an adaptation of the manga Battle Angel and the director spoke a bit about the project yesterday. Sci Fi Wire took part in a group interview with Cameron, who was celebrating the Earth Day DVD/Blu-ray release of Avatar, and he talked about why he wants to make the film. Producer Jon Landau was also on hand at the event, who said that the film will offer a unique perspective on humanity....

Warner Bros. Discovery’s upending of the DCEU caused some worries amongst fans as to which upcoming projects would still go ahead. With the recent announcement of Keanu Reeves’ return as Constantine, which subsequently led to the cancelation of a Constantine series and Madame X at HBO Max, that has led to another wave of fan concern over James Gunn’s upcoming projects, including the second season of the John Cena-led Peacemaker. However, Gunn has seemingly put all fears of Peacemaker being derailed with a new post suggesting filming on the second season of the Suicide Squad spin-off is ready to start in the coming months....

A good film needs more than just a hero and a villain to do battle. It also requires the characters that the hero is fighting to protect. Dragon Ball Z, directed by James Wong, is no exception to this rule, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Wong has now cast Jamie Chung in his film to play the role of Chi Chi, Goku’s love interest. Chung joins Justin Chatwin (Goku) and James Marsters (Piccolo) in the film....

Jason Bateman is set to direct supernatural detective drama The Pinkerton. The film is the first film project to be produced for JJ Abrams’ production company Bad Robot after Warner Bros signed a deal with the production company. Warner Bros. and Bad Robot acquired the rights for the film two years ago from Fast & Furious 9 screenwriter Daniel Casey. The film tells the tale of the Pinkertons, a private security guard and detective agency in the United States that was founded in the 1850s....

Jeff Goldblum is always ready with a bit of witty banter, and he recently had a laugh at the expense of himself and his bare-chested moment in Jurassic Park. Goldblum returns to the dinosaur franchise in Jurassic World: Dominion as Ian Malcolm following his disappointingly brief cameo appearance in the previous movie, and this time he is joined by fellow returnees Sam Neill and Laura Dern in a much larger role....

Where many actors would be concerned about being pigeonholed into a particular type, Jeffrey Dean Morgan could care less. The actor who was the breakout star of Zach Snyder’s Watchmen, based on the seminal graphic novel, is now shooting another comic book adapted film, Vertigo Comics’ The Losers. Morgan, who first made a name for himself on TV in pivotal roles on Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural, is well on his way to being a major movie star and his name is now bounced around practically every time a comic book movie is green lit, which seems to be just fine with him....

Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall, Justin Timberlake, and Catherine Zeta-Jones have already joined the cast for this gambling drama, which is based on the memoir written by Beth Raymer. Rebecca Hall will star as Beth Raymer, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress who became one of the best sports gamblers in the world, although she questions her career choices after falling in love....

Haywire star Gina Carano is in negotiations to star in The Fast and the Furious 6 for Universal Pictures and director Justin Lin. Franchise stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are returning, along with Dwayne Johnson, who portrayed Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs in Fast Five. Gina Carano will play a member of Luke Hobbs’ team. Justin Lin will direct from a screenplay by Chris Morgan. No plot details have been released, but the sequel is said to revolve around another heist....
