Devil May Care is a new James Bond novel being written by British author Sebastian Faulks. It is authorized by the Ian Fleming Estate. Yet, according to the Associated Press, the film rights to the book have not yet been optioned. The new novel is set for a November 2008 release date. It itakes place during the Cold War, and features many beautiful locales. Faulks stated, ““My novel is meant to stand in the line of Fleming’s own books, where the story is everything....

Jane Fonda has thoughts about the upcoming Sony Pictures remake of her 1968 science fiction film Barbarella, or rather she tries not to think of it. The remake, announced in October, replaces Sydney Sweeney from Euphoria and The White Lotus in Fonda’s titular role as Barbarella. A box office flop about a sexy, 41st-century astronaut out to stop Durand Durand from destroying the universe (a mad scientist villain, not the band), the film launched Fonda to sex symbol status in the 60s....

The Bourne franchise is an action-packed film series revolving around a CIA amnesiac assassin who seeks to uncover his identity and discover who he really is. Based on the novels by Robert Ludlum, the Bourne franchise features a total of five films so far and a prequel television series called Treadstone that was, per Screen Rant, canceled for a number of reasons. The main character is portrayed by Matt Damon in all films except The Bourne Legacy....

Former iCarly co-stars Jennette McCurdy and Miranda Cosgrove have ventured down different paths in life in the years since they were former child stars on Nickelodeon, but there’s still nothing but love between the pair. In her new memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, McCurdy describes the misconduct she endured from “The Creator,” referring to the person who created iCarly and its spinoff Sam & Cat. She claims to have turned down $300,000 to stay silent over what she experienced....

Jennifer Coolidge and Alan Ruck have been tapped to star in ABC’s comedy pilot Family of the Year. The show revolves around the Halloways, a 10-time winner of the “family of the year” title in their dusty New Mexico home town. The Hollywood Reporter adds Coolidge will play the family’s matriarch, a former beauty queen; Ruck will play her affable but not very bright husband. Alanna Ubach has joined Fox’s comedy pilot Playing Chicken, which centers on two brothers with opposite political views who are forced to live together after one (Norbert Leo Butz) suffers an accident that leaves him in a wheelchair; Ubach will play his physical therapist, on whom he has a crush....

It seems that producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Walt Disney Pictures are teaming up once again on a new film project. Variety is reporting that Bruckheimer and Disney have picked up the new space adventure film Light Speed. The film was written by Deja Vu screenwriters Terry Rossio and Bill Marsilii, in a pitch deal that was said to be one of the richest sales of the year so far. It was said the writers received over $1 million against $3....

Early talk from director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer suggest that the DVD for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest could be loaded with extras. In a story from Home Media Retailing, Bruckheimer has even spoke of specific scenes that could find their way to the eventual disc. In regards to a dice game that Will (Orlando Bloom) plays with some ghosts, Verbinksi states, “There aren’t really whole scenes that were omitted, but there are a lot of pieces of scenes and more information about characters....

While the entire cast of The Big Bang Theory has gained worldwide fame for their work in the smash-hit series, Jim Parsons as Dr. Sheldon Cooper has always been the breakout character that fans adore. In a recent interview, Bill Prady, who created the show along with Chuck Lorre, recalled the amazing audition that Parsons gave for the role of Sheldon. Unfortunately, he was so good that the producers feared he would not be able to maintain that level on a regular basis....

Actor Jonathan Banks saw his journey as Mike Ehrmantraut come to an end this week with the series finale of Better Call Saul on AMC. For Banks, it had been about 13 years since he’s been seen on television in the fan favorite role of Saul Goodman’s fixer and Gus Fring’s enforcer. Oddly enough, his role was created for a scene originally written for Saul, as Mike was put into the script at the last minute when Bob Odenkirk was unavailable to film that particular episode....

Screenwriter Keir Pearson and producer Larry Meli have picked up life rights to make a biopic about civil-rights activist and labor organizer Cesar Chavez, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pearson, who will write the feature screenplay, is producing with Meli for Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna’s Mexico-based Canana Films. From the 1950s through 1993, when he died, Chavez worked as a community organizer and fought for improved working conditions for California farm workers....

We should really thank our lucky stars that director Matthew Vaughn didn’t end up directing X-Men: The Last Stand like he was supposed to, before the job was turned over to Brett Ratner, who made a rather disappointing flick. Granted, a Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men: The Last Stand would’ve been loads better than the Ratner film (and Vaughn did go on to direct the criminally underseen Stardust, which I loved), but then it would’ve been a hit and then they would’ve likely locked him down to direct a fourth film, or Wolverine, and then we might not have been able to see Vaughn direct Kick-Ass, perhaps the best comic book film ever made, and almost certainly the craziest....

Syfy has brought on The Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place alum Shaun Sipos to play the iconic DC character Adam Strange in their new comic book series Krypton, which serves as a Superman prequel. After Syfy debuted a Krypton trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in July, the network announced the addition of several new characters to the hit series, one of whom was Adam Strange, with the others being Hawkwoman and Brainiac....

A film that will focus on a headline-making 1993 event will be turned into a film and three stars have lined up for the project. Production Weekly is reporting that Kurt Russell, Adrien Brody and Sharon Stone are now attached to Waco, a film which will delve into the Branch Davidian compound disaster outside of Waco, TX in 1993. Rupert Wainwright is directing the film, based off a script he wrote with investigative journalist James Hibberd....

Syfy announces the first casting for its upcoming supernatural drama pilot, Dominion, with the signings of Christopher Egan, Tom Wisdom and Alan Dale. Produced by Universal Cable Productions, the pilot is set to begin shooting later this month in Cape Town, South Africa. Based on characters from the hit theatrical film Legion (2010), Dominion is an epic supernatural action drama set 25 years after the events of the movie and picking up in the aftermath of a catastrophic war between an army of angels and mankind that has transformed the world....

Featuring Duane “Dog” Chapman and his family on the hunt for fugitives in their home state of Hawaii, it is an interesting dichotomy to see the before and after of what Duane and Co....
